Travel writers Brook Sabin and Radha Engling travelled the length of New Zealand on a Stuff Travel nationwide road trip. They were underway for 100 nights and stayed at some amazing places along the way – one of which was Wairua Lodge.

There is a new buzz-word out there that only pregnant couples know… Babymoon! Wairua Lodge is the perfect place for couples to come and enjoy some together time before their lives are changed forever by the arrival of their child. Bethany and Kent are such a lovely young couple and they have been kind enough to recount their Babymoon experience.

In August a long-held dream has come true. Our 6.6 kilowatt solar system has been put into operation.

Just about all of our guests have been across our swingbridge – it is our lifeline to the paths in the rainforest and to the outside world when the Waiatekatanga River floods.

Whilst on a trip to Wellington to visit my Mum, I took the opportunity to visit the factory of Masterweave Textiles in Masterton where they make the most gorgeous mohair, alpaca and wool products. And I couldn’t resist purchasing some beautiful products for our guests at Wairua.

Debbie Lim Wellness is running a Women’s Wellness Retreat on October the 14 – 17th here at Wairua Lodge. Debbie is a local wellness practitioner who works as a life coach, energy healer and yoga teacher locally in Whitianga. 

No stone was left unturned during renovations to the Kiwi Apartment. The room concept is completely new. The bright, fresh colours and materials create a cozy feeling of space in keeping with our “Rainforest chic” theme.

Wairua’s “Feuerring” area now has a powerful presence watching over it in the form of “He Uri o Mahuika”.
